Dawn Symons is an internationally sought-after masseuse who uses a range of therapies including the Maga Technique and sees every layer of tension in a client's body as a personal challenge to break down, release or remove. "I have been treating, healing & caring for people for more than 24 years. My aim has always been to provide both a therapeutic and holistic service which draws on any combination of therapies and knowledge to give the most beneficial result. Every treatment is unique - I have always thought of it as using whichever 'tools' in my 'tool box' a person needs at that particular time. As time has passed I realised I was unable to tell people exactly what I do as it is so much and so varied, but to me at the end of the day it was all the same - its the treatment of a body with the potential to have both physical and psychological pain, but lets face it, when you're known as a world-class masseuse with a pressure second to the none by many who have never experienced the alternative approachs you'd never believe I could possibly perform extremely gentle treatments with deeply relaxing, profound, re-energising and fascinating results!

So finally, I sat down, put it all together and looked at it. Surprisingly, and to be very honest, I did not realise quite how many influences, techniques and methods I use in one session which led me to the answer as to why I was unable to label myself or what I do, its because it is and always has been very unique to me and it doesn't exist!

With this in mind, I soon realised I had to name my methodology. Being  Cornish born and bred I felt it fitting to use a Cornish word for a technique partly studied but certainly developed in Cornwall. This swiftly lead to 'Maga' , the Cornish word for Nurture which was subsequently submitted for ™ and instantly I was able to explain with a level of confidence I have never experienced before exactly what I do ..............proving without doubt that its all in a word!"
